[代郵] Jules: I volunteered with Harvest Charity in the summer of 2011 and went to Guizhou to teach 75 teachers how to teach English. This was a brilliant experience and it was so rewarding to be involved with such a successful education project. The Chinese teachers from Hunan province and Guizhou province were so enthusiastic and willing to learn. The whole English camp was very successful and I really felt a great sense of accomplishment in the work that I put in to helping develop the teaching skills of the Chinese teachers. We could notice a vast improvement in the teachers' self confidence and their English speaking and listening skills over the course of the week. The sheer joy and gratitude that the teachers showed us for our efforts was just brilliant. It was fantastic to be able to go into a school and work with children as well. They were so keen and excited to see us and were such vibrant and enthusiastic students. By helping their teachers we are enhancing the children's opportunities to learn. I was so inspired by the whole experience that when I returned to Hong Kong, I began sponsoring three Chinese girls to go to school. I am looking forward to next years English camp and will be volunteering to go again.
